Conversations Lead to Efficient Government

As the EfficientGovNow competition has demonstrated there are a lot of opportunities in Northeast Ohio for government collaboration. The first step in the process is a conversation among interested parties and right now two of the biggest governments in Ohio -- Cuyahoga County and the City of Cleveland -- are talking about whether it makes sense to collaborate on jail operations.
As this editorial in the Cleveland Plain Dealer points out the conversation could blossom into something more, it could have far-reaching significance about how this region is governed. Having the city exit the jail business could save taxpayers millions, but more importantly it could spur a whole new wave of collaborations.
Please add your voice to the call for more government collaborations by voting in the EfficientGovNow competition in May.
