Universities Collaborate to Benefit Region

A primary care physician shortage has brought two Northeast Ohio universities together in a collaboration that, if successful, will not only address the shortage but provide more doctors for the region.
The partnership between Northeast Ohio Medical University and Cleveland State University kicks-off this fall, according to a Plain Dealer article.
CSU is enrolling students with a bachelor's or master's degree who will take two years of prerequisite courses before moving on to the medical school. In addition, sophomore students at CSU can apply to a joint bachelor's-M.D. program. Those accepted will have a seat waiting for them at the medical school after getting their bachelor's degree.
This is another sign of how our region's educational institutions can collaborate to meet a regional need. What talent development issue would you like to see a collaboration address?
