ANEO partners to receive nearly $3 million to spur economic development

Eight Advance Northeast Ohio partners are set to receive grants totaling $2.975 million from JobsOhio Network partner Team NEO to create more jobs, increase capital investment and increase the region's economic competitiveness.

The six proposals to get the support and their programs are:

  • Greater Cleveland Partnership, Team Lorain County, Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber, Stark Development Board, Greater Akron Chamber, Regional Retention and Expansion Program, $2,000,000
  • Team NEO, Direct-to-Company Business Attraction in Strategic Industry Sectors, $475,000
  • Wayne Economic Development Council, AgBio Growth and Attraction, $150,000
  • Wayne Economic Development Council, The Northeast Ohio Regional Center (EB-5) to Attract New Capital, $125,000
  • JumpStart, Dedicated Regional Entrepreneurial Resource, $125,000
  • Richland Community Development Group, Retention and Expansion Seed Funding, $100,000

"Our objective was to move the needle further to bolster the region's economic development strength," said Ward J. "Tim" Timken, Jr., chairman of The Timken Company and chairman of Team NEO. "We were extremely pleased with the quality of ideas and the regional spirit and level of collaboration in these proposals. We believe that they will significantly enhance our ability to retain, grow and recruit businesses - which adds up to more jobs."
