Northeast Ohio is a prime location for all outdoor enthusiasts, no matter your sport or hobby of choice! From hiking, to biking, to running, to rowing, The Plus region offers a wide variety of recreational activities. As we prepare for the fall season, rowers throughout The Plus region are gearing up for the annual Head of the Cuyahoga Regatta (HOTC), taking place Saturday, September 18th. This popular event attracts rowing clubs from throughout the country and continues to be a favorite for rowers throughout The Plus.
Hosted by the Cleveland Rowing Foundation, HOTC is open to high school, collegiate and adult competitors from throughout the country. As competitors traverse a two and a-half mile course along the Cuyahoga River, they will have the opportunity to participate in sweep and sculling events.
HOTC hosted its inaugural event in 1996, which attracted over 250 competitors. Since then, the event has continued to grow thanks to increased support from volunteers, local businesses and the U.S. Coast Guard.
