Top Honors for The Plus Region’s Quality Electrodynamics
Posted by ThePlus - 09.01.2010
Companies like Quality Electrodynamics (QED) are a shining example as to why Northeast Ohio is the Medical Capital. QED, the manufacturer of proprietary, high-quality MRI coils, has experienced great success in a short amount of time due to its innovative technology. In fact, the company recently made it to Inc.’s annual ranking of the 500 fastest growing private companies in America, coming in at number 13 in the healthcare company category. Businesses like QED are helping grow Northeast Ohio’s economy while putting The Plus region on the map.
Led by CEO and Founder, Dr. Hiroyuki Fujita, QED has made significant progress since being formed in 2006. Derived from research conducted at Case Western Reserve University, QED has obtained more than $3.85 million in development grants and now employs 60 employees. QED operates out of a 27,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and boasted $12 million in revenue in 2009. Not bad for five years!
In addition to making the 2010 Inc. 500, QED and CEO, Dr. Fujita, have received a variety of other notable honors. Last year QED was selected as one of America’s most promising companies by Forbes magazine while Dr. Fujita was named #4 on Inc.’s 2010 Top 10 Asian Entrepreneurs in the U.S.
Congratulations to Quality Electrodynamics on receiving such high distinctions for their work! With the help of companies like QED, The Plus region’s economy will continue to grow and develop.
