Case Western Reserve University and Kent State University ranked in Top 200 World Universities Ranking

Two Northeast Ohio higher education institutions will certainly be known around the world after the Times Higher Education recent release of the World University Rankings for 2010-2011. The list, powered by Thomson Reuters, was compiled after consulting with academic institutions and higher education experts around the globe for over ten months. It also used a system that consisted of five categories—Teaching-the learning environment, Research-volume, income and reputation, Citations-research and influence, Industry income-innovation and International mix-staff and students—with 13 indicators throughout the five categories. Two Northeast Ohio universities, Case Western Reserve and Kent State University, appeared on the list. CWRU ranked number 65 and had an overall score of 62.2, and excelled in the Teaching, Citations, International mix and Research categories.
Kent State University was ranked number 196 with an overall score of 46.5. The University’s strongest category was Citations followed most notably by Teaching, Research and Industry Income.
